Refund & Warranty Policy
Clear standards for warranty support and refund review.
We want customers to feel confident in the work we perform. This policy explains how The American Handyman Company handles workmanship concerns, product issues, deposits, cancellations, and refund requests.
Workmanship review
We review concerns tied to the work we performed and determine the right next step based on scope, timing, and conditions.
Fair resolutions
When a service issue is confirmed, the solution may include repair, redo, credit, partial refund, or another reasonable correction.
Clear limits
Material defects, normal wear, misuse, hidden conditions, unrelated systems, and changed scope may fall outside workmanship coverage.
1. Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our workmanship. For most handyman services, we provide a workmanship guarantee for a defined period, when stated in your quote, invoice, work order, or written project communication.
Workmanship coverage applies to defects in the work we performed. It does not apply to normal wear, misuse, abuse, lack of maintenance, unrelated systems, customer-supplied materials, or conditions outside the original agreed scope.
If you believe there is a workmanship issue
- Contact us as soon as you notice the issue
- Share photos, videos, access notes, and project details when possible
- Allow us reasonable time to review the concern and determine the appropriate next step
- If warranted, we may schedule a visit to assess, correct, or explain the condition
2. Materials and Products
Materials and products are typically covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, if one applies. Manufacturer warranties belong to the manufacturer and may have their own limits, claim process, exclusions, and documentation requirements.
If a product fails, we can help you understand the practical options based on the product warranty, visible condition, installation context, and any additional labor needed for repair or replacement.
- Manufacturer defects are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty when applicable
- Customer-supplied materials are not guaranteed by The American Handyman Company
- Replacement labor, return visits, shipping, or sourcing may require separate approval or added cost
3. Refund Review
Because our services are time- and labor-based, refunds are not always the default solution. When there is a clear concern with our service, we review the situation in good faith and choose a reasonable path based on the facts.
Depending on the issue, a resolution may include repair, redo, credit, partial refund, scheduling adjustment, or another practical correction.
Short version: tell us what happened, share the details, and give us a reasonable opportunity to review and correct service-related concerns.
4. Cancellations and Deposits
Some projects require deposits for scheduling, reserved labor time, special-order materials, staged materials, or larger scopes of work. Any specific cancellation or deposit terms should be stated in your quote, invoice, project agreement, or written communication.
- If you cancel well in advance, part or all of a deposit may be refundable
- If materials have been ordered, staged, fabricated, or work has begun, some or all of the deposit may be used to cover incurred costs
- Late cancellations, no-shows, inaccessible work areas, or repeated failed access attempts may result in trip charges, rescheduling fees, or delayed service
5. What Is Not Covered
This policy is intended to support clear, fair resolution of service concerns. It does not turn every future issue at a property into a covered warranty item.
- Pre-existing damage, hidden defects, structural issues, code issues, or unrelated system failures
- Normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, abuse, moisture intrusion, pests, settlement, or lack of maintenance
- Changes requested after the original scope was approved
- Color, texture, material, or finish variations that are commercially reasonable or unavoidable
- Failures caused by customer-supplied materials or products outside our control
